According to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), cosmetic surgery is on the rise in the US. In 2015, almost 12.8m surgical and non-surgical procedures were carried out compared to 10.5m in 2014 and 1.6m in 1997. Breast augmentation was the second most popular type of surgical procedure, with almost 306,000 operations performed in America last year.

Nose reshaping surgery (otherwise known as rhinoplasty) is a very common cosmetic surgery procedure here in the UK. In fact, there were 4,205 rhinoplasty operations carried out privately in 2015 – a rise of 14% on the previous year.
